Man Charged with Felony Vehicular Manslaughter
|
According to the Orange County District Attorney's office, Edward Stanley Butler is being charged with one felony count of vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence while intoxicated. 70 year old Butler, is being accused of killing a woman and injuring her son while driving under the influence. He will be arraigned Friday.
Butler allegedly crashed his car last September into a vehicle being driven by Tamiko Kaminaga. 60, who was exiting a parking lot with her 17 year old son. Kaminaga made a illegal left turn and Butler failed to stop or slow down. Butler had a blood-alcohol level of .22% and an empty vodka bottle was allegedly found in his car. Kaminaga was pronounced dead at a hospital. If convicted, Butler faces a maximum sentence of four years in state prison.
