I've been defending DUIs now for over twenty-five years, and I can tell you that Mothers Against Drunk Driving has a significant impact on DUIs across California and Los Angeles in particular.

MADD has Substantial Credibility

So, bet your bottom dollar that Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is an organization with a lot of credibility, authority, and, to a degree, underlying power regarding DUI cases in Los Angeles County.

So, it's an organization that the CHP is connected with. I think they give a lot of awards out to the CHP because the CHP is arresting people all the time for DUIs throughout Los Angeles County. These awards, which recognize the CHP's efforts in preventing DUIs, highlight the collaborative relationship between MADD and the CHP. Hence, MADD recognizes them all the time, and they know that they're the arms and legs of Mothers Against Drunk Driving, as far as stopping people going out on the highways, endangering lives by drinking alcohol and driving unsafely out on our streets.

In that case, there's a good chance that you will come in contact with Mothers Against Drunk Driving, or at least some of the concepts and programs that they have set up related to trying to educate people on drinking and driving, what happens when you drink and drive, some of the penalties that you could face, and some of the bad results that can occur.
